Anastasia was our first broodmare at Flying 5B Sporthorses, and she has proven herself to be an exceptional producer of quality hunter/jumper horses. Anastasia is a registered Russian warmblood mare by the stallion Otschag out of a refined thoroughbred mare. Anastasia's sire Otschag is a very correct and flashy stallion that was known to produce fabulous temperaments and ability for sport. Anastasia's thoroughbred dam very successfully helped to add refinement, a compact frame, and athleticism to the pairing.

Otschag's sire, Orsk is a son of the international foundation sire, Hockey. Orsk was born in 1983 at the Kirow Stud in Russia. This very big stallion was graced with excellent movement and took part in many "L" and "M" shows in Russia. Now he is one of 14 licensed Hockey sons. Hockey was born in 1973 at the renowned Kirow Stud on the Don River in Russia. He descends from the Hrisolit/Sund and Pomerates lines. Hockey was one of Russia's most influential Trakehner stallions and during his 16 years at the Kirow Stud he was their most popular stallion. Hockey produced over 40 Grand Prix horses and was known for passing on his excellent gaits and rideability. 

Anastasia herself was a successful hunter mare, with several placings at A rated shows before becoming a member of our broodmare herd. Under saddle Anastasia demonstrated excellent rideability, a fantastic work ethic, fancy hunter movement, and a very correct form over fences. However, where Anastasia truly shines is in her ability to consistently "outproduce" herself in her foals. Anastasia's 2016 filly Balou du Rouge F5B, by the stallion Bon Balou, has been an exceptionally talented young horse who has shown immense potential to be a very competitive small junior hunter in the A and AA hunter circuits. We believe that Anastasia's unique breeding makes her a fabulous outcross with traditional German stallions and the results have spoken for themselves. Balou du Rouge F5B has shown us a remarkable level of trainability, scope over fences, and spectacular movement. 

Anastasia's foals are truly any amateur's or professional's dream as they are talented enough to take you as far as you could want to go competitively. We could not be more thrilled with what Anastasia has produced and are very excited to meet her 2020 foal by the great stallion Quarterback.
